Has anyone ever looked at something you created in amazement and said, “Wow…you really should go into business doing this!”? Those words, repeated many times by family and friends, lead to the beginning of Creative Homestylers and Creative Homestylers Just for Kids. After helping her family and friends with interior redesigns, designing childrens’ bedrooms and solving the many decorating dilemmas they’d had over the years, Karli Halaby Smith decided it was time to listen to their encouraging words. So, she attended School of Interior Redesign and became a Certified Interior Redesign Specialist.

Karli is the mother of two young children. She has also been an elementary school teacher for 14 years. Both of these jobs have called on an endless amount of creativity, patience and organizational skills which all come into play where design is concerned. Much of Karli’s success can be attributed to her husband, Dan, and his willingness and ability to make her design visions a reality over and over again.

She is a member of the Association of Design Education (ADE) and the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS). IRIS has partnered with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) to provide public awareness and education about ovarian cancer. Karli is among a group of Interior Redesign Specialists who are volunteering their time and talents to create "havens for healing" in the homes of the courageous women receiving treatment. If you know of a woman undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer in Fairfield County, please let her know that Creative Homestylers is here to help.
